May Happenings
ADULT Christian Education Committee

We are lifelong learners at St. Mark Presbyterian Church.
We love to read, take courses, study new areas and explore life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Take learning into your hands,do not let her go;
Keep her, for she is your life.
Proverbs 4:13
I have never let my schooling interfere with my education.
Mark Twain (1835-1910)

ADULT SUNDAY SCHOOL
8:45 & 9:15 TO 10:15 AM

Discussion Class
8:45 to 10:00 AM
Room 305
Class members determine topics and facilitate their own presentations.

Informal Bible Study
9:15 am to 10 15 AM - Rm 102
On April 6th, this class will complete study of the book 'Thank God It's Friday: Encountering the Seven Last Words from the Cross' by William H. Willimon.

On April 13th, we will begin a study by author
J. Ellsworth Kalas entitled Reflections on the Lord's Prayer. Each of six sessions concentrates on a major theme or phrase of the prayer in the hope that we will be renewed in our reflections and intentional as we pray this familiar prayer. In truth, if through our time of study we are caused to think as we speak this prayer, it may be that we are loving God with our minds as well as with rote emotions. And if by our study some familiar phrase comes to have enlarged and more significant meaning, that will be a still greater gain.

Parenting Your Teenager
9:15 am to 10:15 AM - Library
Led by Rev. Sean Butler, this class is currently studying 'Teens and Dating: What Parents Need To Know'. Just what is going on during this developmental phase? While falling in love is something that has occurred throughout human history, what has changed for the kids of today's culture? What are "friends with benefits" and "hookups"? How can individuals and communities best support adolescents as they live through the early dating years?
